New tradition begins A new tradition was started by this year's Girls' League at the annual Winter Formal spon- sored by Girls' League. On December 4, 1982 David lmbernino was named the first Snow King and Girls' League sweetheart. Girls' League started the year off sponsoring the Freshmen Girls' Orientation. During Halloween Girls' League representatives sold carmel apples. On Valentine's Day, Girls' League delivered carna- tions. Girls' League also held a See's sucker sale this year. All of the functions of Girls' League were very successful and a lot of fun. The mon- ey acquired has been used to give scholarships for deserving senior girls. l 3 1. junior Girls' League member Mimi Latham shows her stuff at a weekly meeting. 2. Key Club is a caring Way of life Key Club is caring: a way of life. This club motto describes Key Club, whose purpose was to help the needy help themselves. Key Club- bers met Monday nights under the guidance of their new advisor, john Weyrauch, to plan com- munity projects. Like each year, the members traveled to New Mexico and Arizona with a moving van full of furniture and clothes for the Navajo Indians. The club also took food and clothes along with a lot of smiles. This year Key Club held a blood drive in May as well as main- taining a petting farm at Fairview, playing bingo with appreciative ladies at a convalescent home, volunteering time at American Cancer Society and tending school planters. The dedication and care that Key Clubbers show touches the hearts of many people each year, said Mr. Weyrauch.
