SLEEPING BEAUTY' YEARS AGO” snobs:::: legs: ’’THE GOOD OLD DAYS” CAN YOU IMAGINE’?’ ’ THE BIG THREE” PIN UP BONEHEADS OF THE YEAR” BABY”’. ODDS AND ES LOVERS’ •‘TEAM DOPES” •‘GRUMBLE? 14 Class History We are all clustered around talking about the four years that have just passed. Mr. Rodgers sits at the front of the room, and the thirty- nine members of the Senior Class look a little sad. We know we cannot re-live our high school days except in our memory. If our memory serves us right, here are some of the highlights: V e started out our Freshman year with an enrollment of fifty-four. We chose Janet Cales as our President; Virginia Hatfield, Vice-President; Sue Nelson, Secretary; Pat Fisher, Treasurer. When we opened our Sophomore year, we found our enrollment considerably smaller. With Janet Cales as President; Tom Frasure, Vice-President; Elaine Ferguson, Secretary; and Mary Fitch, Treasurer, we managed to keep rolling. Pat Fisher was elected Homecoming Queen at the annual Homecoming Dance. This year we chose our class rings from the Josten Company. We chose the design on the rings, as we all liked it very much. Out of our class, Virginia Hatfield, Janet Cales, Mary Fitch, Dot Gerlica, June Beddow, Marilyn Musick, Jerry Roof, Dick Garrison, Tim Kocks, Kenneth Harmon, Tom Frasure, and Jim Murray were chosen to serve at the Junior-Senior Prom. Up until now, Mr. Koonts was with us as our advisor, but this year Mrs. Forshey undertook the task. Holding offices were Jerry Roff, President; Jim Murray, Vice-President; Virginia Hatfield, Secretary; and Andy Perine, Treasurer. In order to sponsor our Junior-Senior Prom, we earned money by selling Christmas cards, t-shirts, hats, cushions, etc. As tradition has it, we held the Homecoming Dance in February. Our Junior Class play, “Clementine”, was the big source of making money. Four our prom we carried out the rainbow theme. Amby Ambruster’s orchestra provided us with the music; we found that this event was enjoyed by everyone who attended. It was a wonderful way to close our Junior year’..’ The Senior year, holding fast to thirty-nine Seniors, began with Mr. Rodgers as our advisor. Under him were Andy Perine, President; Pat Fisher, Vice-President; Virginia Hatfield, Secretary; and Elaine Ferguson as Treasurer. We are all planning heavily for our Senior trip to Washington and New York. At this writing, time has not lasped for a few major events. Our Senior Class play. Gold Digger’s Dance, Junior- Senior Prom, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. We are all looking forward to these events. We are proud to have had in our class some of the school’s most promising personalities. We have had quite a per cent of the band, basketball teams, cheerleading squads, and scholarship teams. 15 The next question is: Where do we go from here? ” A Look Into The Future Gaze upon this work of art ye mighty and despair, For in writing this thing, I pulled out my hair! P. Kirkbride, the girl with the brain, is now a conductor on a choo-choo train. D. Hopkins, a professor at Yale, went on a bender and landed in jail. R. With arms outstretched it welcomes us, Here many treasures we have found. Oh, we love these halls of Corning, .Life has played us a merry tune. The days grow short and the years grow long, Must we say good-bye so soon? Many, many, years from now. When we're sitting by the fire. We'll take down this book and its memories. Re-live our school life in those few hours.
