Dear Graduate of 1969 It is not without good reason that the climactic hours of your educational experience are called commencement. It seems like the end of the journey but in reality it is far more the beginning toward which these years have been pointing. You are now both launched and anchored; launched in that your life's ministry is before you and sails are set to take advan- tage of every God-given opportunity; but anchored in that the great principles of God's Word and a Christian world and life view have in a real measure become yours. There is a certain nostalgia as you look back and review the kaleidoscopic experiences of these most strategic years of life, and a delightful sense of accomplishment and anticipation as you receive the reward of your educational labors and step toward new realms of either further education or Christian service. These experiences are a very normal portion of all those who enter into the joys and sorrows of adult responsibilities. For those who desire like Paul to know His will, see His face, and hear His voice, there will be many similar graduat- ing experiences in which nostalgia, sorrow, and joy become inseparably mixed, May I once again encourage you to keep looking unto Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
