Grabbing a quick lunch . . . hoping the Comets make that needed point. . . taking in the pageantry of our An- nual Royalty Weekend . . . trying to listen when you just can't'- . . . enjoying life with othere . . . racking heads during a tough lecture . . . looking to diplomas and the future. As you turn the pages of this 1967 Kumi- Ori we would have you see Christ in these things ... in many, many more things ... in EVERYTHING! 6 7 8 Dedication It is not ours to honor, it is but ours to re- cognize the honor God has bestowed on one who has yielded to His call. We give thanks to God for a man who is not only interesting, but interested. Many are the times we have chuckled as he led a class, and many are the times we have ap- preciated the warm, personal concern he has shown towards us. And so, with much appreciation, we dedicate the 1967 edition of the Kumi Ori, to you, a man through whom we can see Christ, Professor Albert Crawford. 9 A Word From Dr. Welch Deor Graduate: Personal memories of my own college graduating experience reminds me of the thoughts which may be tracing their way across your mind ot this time. There is a certain nostalgia as you look back and review the kaleidoscopic experiences of these most strategic years of life, a certain sorrow os you contemplate severing long standing ties with student associates maybe never to see some of them again, and a delightful sense of accomplishment and anticipation os you receive the reward of your educo tionol labors and step toward new realms of either further education or Christion serv ce. These experiences are a very normal portion of all those who would enter nto the |oys ond sorrows of adult 'esponsibilities. For those who desire, like Paul, to know His will, see His face, and hear His voice, ‘here will be many similar graduating exper- ences in which nostalgia, sorrow ond |oy become inseparably mixed. Only by keeping rhe eye firmly fixed on the Lord Jesus and the heart firmly purposed to know and perform His will can we most fully utilize our educational experiences and be prepared unto every good work ond fit for the Mcster s use. ' Moy I once again encourage you to keep looking unto Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Be assured that our invest- ment in you to this moment means a continued personol interest in your future wherever our blessed Lord may direct your steps. Sincerely, 10 W. Wilbert Welch, President Baptist Bible College Seminary v.: r. t9to4 - ■ ,•■ MVfwa, msbr? Giving time to answer a query . . . joyfully singing the Lord's praises . . . taking an enjoyable moment out of a busy schedule . . . endlessly stamping promotional letters. . . consulting with a confused student . . . attempting to get across a vital point... in these things WE SEE CHRIST. 12 Administration, Faculty, and Staff 13 Administration DR. Roger Three Astron That Sweeps BBC reflects mood of January 28, 1967. World Saddened By Space Tragedy Risking one's life for mere excitement is foolhardy . . . risking one's life for a cause is heroic. Roger Chaffee was willing to risk his life for our space program, and on January 27 it was asked from him. Once we could name him a hero, now we salute him one. Baptist 8ible College could claim no personal ties with Roger, but as a port of Grand Rapids we shared in the pride of having an astronaut from our town. After the Cape Kennedy tragedy we could feel a special, warm pride in Roger Chaffee, and in his life — the way he lived it and the way he gave it. It's a nostalgic moment, yet a satisfying moment, knowing the job is completed, in good order and on time. 8ut many people work to make up such a book. To my very able and hard-working staff, i give my grateful appreciation. Their many hours could never be enumerated. Thanks go to our advisor, Mr. David Egner, for his guiding and encouragement. Special thanks go out to Robinson Studio, Colora- ma Photography, and Misters Tim Amundson and Tom Parsons for the fine job they did with our pict- ures. As you close this book, remember our theme, That we might see Jesus in EVERYTHING! It is my prayer that you have seen Jesus Christ in this 1967 Kumi-Ori, ond that through it you have seen Him in EVERY area of our campus life. Now, continue to see Jesus .... in EVERY part of your life. Your Editor, Dave TAYLOR PUBLISHING COMPANY 'Ii wciMi B « « booAi t 152
