A Word From Dr. Welch Dear Graduate: Another milestone has been passed. By no means does this imply that the end of the journey has been reached, but rather only that you have enjoyed real progress in seeking to apprehend that for which I also am apprehended of Christ Jesus. The adult life with its privileges and challenges is an exciting adventure because God has designed to do His work on earth through human instruments. You have the privilege of partnership in a divine- human cooperative in which you furnish the human vessel and God furnishes the enabling graces. It still remains to be demonstrated what God can do through a fully surrendered vessel. The president, faculty and board are grateful to God for having had the opportunity of contributing in some measure to your academic and spiritual maturity, and in assisting you in your press toward the mark. It is now our privilege to encourage you as you step into new realms of further education or Christian service to walk worthy of the Lord, to be fruitful in every good work and to increase in the knowledge of God. We dare not divide life into the sacred and secular for all of life is sacred before God. Because of this, be assured that whether making tents at home or building churches on some mission field you will have our continual interest as you fulfill the Lord's blue-printed plan for your life. Sincerely, 10 W. Wilbert Welch, President Baptist Bible College Seminary

■ il'STtM COM Dr. Welch lifts the first shovelful of earth at the ground- breaking ceremonies. The fall semester of 1959 welcomed a new president in the person of Dr. W. Wilbert Welch. The program for a new campus was again taken up, and two years later ground- breaking ceremonies formed the initial step forward. The academic standing leaped ahead as well, until in 1964, the recently formed Bible College division was given full member- ship in the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges. The great move was effected the same year and the 1964 freshmen were greeted by a sparkling new campus which was not even completed. The blessing of being away from the city, and the enjoyment of a spacious, beautiful campus overcame any inconveni- ences, and an increase in the number of appli- Dr. Faber, Dr. Wood and Dr. Welch s!and beside the newly placed corner, stone. cations quickly sent the Executive Board run- ning to the architect for more blueprints. Yet, it is merely the beginning- the primary, though definite, steps which will lead in the future to a finer school that maintains Academic Ex- cellence plus Spiritual Commitment. The empty library building makes a good place tor a ladies' guild meeting. 9
