P uAe tt' i Jlette i WHAT IS THAT IN THINE HAND? The importance of the hand to the efficient service of the body can hardly be overestimated. The frequent references in the Bible to the use of the hand, whether it be God's hand or man's, is quite surprising, since it appears nearly 1600 times. The Lord once asked Moses a question we might profit- ably consider — “What is in thine hand? To be sure Christian workers should not have empty hands. The Psalmist wrote of a, “two-edged sword in their hand.” That sword is the word of God, so the writers to the Hebrews said. Every Christian worker should seek to be skilful in the use of that sword. To that end this School came into being and may God ever preserve it for that accomplishment. 8

This hand reflects experience and sound judgment. As Acting President Dr. Keithley gives us wise counsel and helpful guidance in every aspect of our school life. Working with the Faculty and the Board of Trustees, deci- sions are made that reveal capable leadership. The important ministry of public relations is also performed by our President. The hand of the Dean affects every student's life in some way or another. Academic prob- lems and matters invariably find their way to his desk. In the classes, each Faculty member leads enquiring minds” into rigorous disciplines. 7

DR. KEITHLEY “The steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord.” An important step in a Christian’s life is his preparation for serv- ice. At the Moody Bible Institute Dr. Keithley completed the Bible Missions course, and then attended the Northern Baptist Seminary. He pastored in Sil- ver Lake, Wisconsin and Silvis, Illinois, where he added a wife to his responsibilities and joys, who served with him thirteen years in Buffalo, New York and twenty-one years in the Berean Baptist Church of Grand Rap- ids. There he felt called into another type of Christian serv- ice. At the Baptist Theological Seminary the door was open for him to fill the position of in- terim president. Certainly the Lord has qualified him through rich experience in administra- tion and counseling.
