The ACCC met in Grand Rapids this year . . . they must have realized the importance of our school ... at least they honored us with three of their top officials for chapel services . . . After an official tour of inspection, the O.K. was given for government help for the Vets among us — that was a real answer to prayer . . . From all reports, that faculty and board dinner must have been quite a thing . . . what did you do with all those ties, Mr. Wilson? And parson, where did you-all get that race-track- money ? News Flash! Pope sees vision of the gentile figure of Jesus ! and if you weren't at Wealthy Street to hear what Dr. Fuller had to say about it, you really missed out on something ... he just pointed out the results of similar visions in the Scriptures. I haven't noticed any such changes in the Roman Catholic Church or the Pope . . . not too surprised . . . — 12 —

Somebody had a good idea when they divided Monday morning prayer meetings up into groups . . . Say, but did you notice the new couples this year . . . rules or no rules, you just can't keep them apart . . . and the old steadies ; this place just wouldn't be the same without them . . . The Michi- gan Association of Regular Baptist Churches held their annual meeting at Wealthy Street again this year . . . was it so popular with the students be- cause of the classes they skipped or because President Hakes was on the list of speakers . . . The student reception party was quite the thing this year; main feature was a magician, Mr. John De Vries . . . Dr. Bob Ketchum's chapel sermons on The Will of God and How To Eat the Word of God were a great blessing and I trust that Ketchum Week had a real impact on the spiritual lives of all of us . . . — II —

Say, that Seminary Wives Fellowship is really geared to the students needs this year . . . first a lecture on How to Prepare Economical Meals ; then sometime later at a party, we had the privilege of seeing our prof's before the truth or consequences committee. let's be quick with that whistle, Milton . . . The men in the white coats, driving the little white truck, threw quite a scare into us ... we were all relieved to find they only wanted to test for T.B. Glad to report that no one passed out . . . some looked like they were close to it, though . . . EXTRA! Bill Wilson cops the ping- pong championship (this is not the Wild Bill of Comstock Park's Speedrome). Con- gratulations Bill ... it must be that string tie of his . . . Things have been pretty quiet around here since the time that the new school paper was begun . . . nobody dares to do anything for fear that one of the B.T.S. Beacon reporters will see it and put it in print . . . One consolation: about half the copies aren't readable . . . — 13
