SemmARy Life With the dust and excitement of Labor Day still lingering in the air we met once again in the familiar halls of learning. We came with happy smiles, light hearts, and padded billfolds. Somehow we were glad to turn from three months of physical labor and take up the already wellworn notebooks. Our light hearts gained weight when we received our assignments from the eager Professors. Once again the little bulge in the back pocket was gone — not to be felt again for the next nine months. When we returned to school the next day all we had left was the happy smile. But it too was soon replaced by that well-known look that says, How am I ever going to get all my work done? We thought Hebrew would be easy this year. After all, we did know the grammer, didn't we? (Or did we?) Purely a matter of translating a few verses. That last half of the chapter Mr. Wood assigned looks like a cinch. But as we pour over our manuscript it seems like he said the last half of the Pentateuch! Hebrew Exegesis was about the same. We spent hours developing a solution, only to have it vanish in thin air as a few choice words showed us what we failed to take into consideration. Do we sound as if we are bitter? We are not, really. It is just that we are finding that there is very much we need to know. And in order for us to get it all in the short time we have, the teachers have to throw it at us. Let'er come. We can take it.

Seminary SeniORS “0 give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureih for ever.” Psalm 136:1 In reviewing God’s dealing with us as a class, we can truly say with the Psalmist that God has been good to us. n redeeming us from a life of sin and giving that peace and joy which passes all human under- standing, He has shown forth His goodness. With His call to the service of proclaiming the good news of the Gospel, He has likewise bestowed upon us the needed ability to be good servants of Jesus Christ. He has equipped us with a thorough knowledge of His Word through the instruments of learned professors who, themselves, have a real love for His Word. These men, endowed by God, have sought to sharpen our tools of learning and give a clear insight into His Word and of the approaching problems which will confront us. With this training behind us, and by the help of God. we, as Seniors, are looking forward to serving the Lord in whatsoever field He has called us. Whether it be the mission field, the pastorate, or other full- time service, our one aim and the supreme goal of our lives is to point men and women to the Lamb of God who died for them. It is with thanksgiving in cur hearts, and praise upon our lips for all He has done for us that we leave these familiar halls and go forward armed with His Word and empowered by His Spirit to meet the foe on very hand.
