pResi ent’s message All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteous- ness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto ai! good works. II Timothy 3=16, 17 Dear Seniors: The above verses are no doubt a most familiar passage, and it is well that it should be so, because in it we find the basic reasons for the great importance of Bible study. The Creator has not only furnished man, whom He created in His image and after His likeness, with an intellect capable of knowing the universe in which he lives, but 'He has also provided Him with an infallible source of such knowledge, namely, the Holy Scrptures, of which the Holy Spirit is the real author. These Scriptures also furnish him with a knowledge concerning himself, his origin as a creature, his condition as a sinner, the provision for his redemption, and God's purpose for his life after salvation. He is therefore urged to study these Scriptures carefully in oraer that he may so conduci himself in this life as a workman for God that, when his work on earth is finished, he may receive God’s approval. The warning is giver that if he is not an approved workman, he will be ashamed in the day of the Lo.-d's return. These instructions have been carefully given to you by your teachers, and the fact that you are now graduating is proof that you have learrea the rudiments as contained in God's Holy Word for life and godliness. But you have only begun; ihis study is a life-long exercise. We trust that your appetites have been whetted, your thinking capaci+y enlarged and sharpened, but above all, that your hearts have been so filled with a love for God and His Word that you will want to know more and more concerning His will for your lives; and because of His Itove for you, you will always want to do that which is well pleasing in His sight. This study must not be out of compulsion but because of a deep desire wrought by the Holy Spirit in the heart. If these things be so, you will not be unfruitful in the work of the Lord and you will not miss His approval. And now, as you leave this institution of learning, the board and faculty wish to assure you of our continued interest in your spiritual welfare and service for Him. Our prayers will fellow you wherever the Lord may lead, and v e invite you to remain in touch with us so that the fellowship which exists may be strengthened through the years. We also covet your prayers that we may continue faithful to cur blessed Lord and His Holy word until Jesus comes. Maranatha!
