dean t. w. mackesey Bending over drafting boards heaped with sketches of art centers and office buildings, we find the architect. Mis famed individualism and creative abilities have made his college distinctive. In the drafting room where students and faculty work closely together through critiques, the bond of his profession is strongly felt, and when charette time inevitably rolls around, he hibernates for endless days up in White’s fourth floor with others of his class. But by no means is his talent confined to tin activities in White Hall. Between calculating storage spaces and beam deformations, he takes time out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day or throw the biennial Beaux-Arts Ball. Whether preparing for a festive event, meeting a problem deadline, or studying the humanities in the College of Arts and Sciences, he is preparing for his life as an Architect. Hu1 college of I li IS 11’ I I I I IS K dean win. i. myers Those who are fortunate enough to he connected with the College of Agriculture know that their school is one of the best and most progressive in the country. Established by New York State in 1901 to develop and teach new agricultural techniques, the “Ag School” has proved a boon to the state’s farming. The college carries out its work in three phases: teaching of farming and agricultural techniques to the students; research and development of new methods: and extension teaching of modern techniques to farmers, in co-operation with county agents. The upper campus, home of the College of Agriculture, hums with undergraduate activities of all kinds, which culminate each spring in Farm and Home Week, put on in conjunction with the College Home Economics to exhibit new farm techniques to the farming public. 22
