WRESTLING JEL! Review of The 1918-19 Season This yearls wrestling team was handicapped from the very outset by the lack of experienced material and the loss of Coach Walt,' O7Connell, who left here last Spring to go overseas. Fortunately however, George Bullard, last years intercollegiate point winner, was in town and ollered his assistance to the team as coach. Conroy of the 1917 team and Zepp, Tuttle and Aclcerly of last year's team were the only men on the squad with any previous experience. Due to the lack of finances, Cornell's only meet was the Intercollegiates and thus we see that the team made an excellent showing considering the diiqiiculties with which they were beset, together withthe fact that Captain Zepp and lVlcBride were prevented from participating in the championships due to injuries received in practice. The Intercollegiates were held at Penn State this year and Lehigh, Columbia, Pennsylvania and Cornell all sent teams to compete with the home team which was awarded last yearls championship. They had little difficulty in again annexing the premier laurels although Lehigh was a close second followed by the Red and WVhite who took third place. Ackerly and Conroy were the only Cornellians who won first places but Tuttle and Noonan also figured in the point score by taking third place each. The other men representing Cornell in the meet were Howell, Wfiedorn and Lockwood who, although they failed to score, put up excellent competition. Thus, although failing to win the Intercollegiate Champion? ship, the Varsity worked hard and faithfully and this year's work will do much to lay the foundation for the championship in IQZO.
