Review of the 1918 Football Season A In a review ofthe IQIS Football season it must be remembered that the Athletic Associa- tion had suspended its activities for the year and that the regular schedule had been can- celled. However a Student's Army Training Corps team was organized about the middle of October and concluded the season with the only scheduled game of the year, played with the University of Buffalo on Thanksgiving Dayg Cornell S,A.T.C. winning easily with a 28-o score. The only other games played were practice games with the School of Photog- raphy and the School of lVIilitary Aeronautics, with the exception of a game played between the Army Unit and the Naval Unit which was won by the latter due largely to the spectacular running of MacKenzie. The squad was composed of thirty-ive men, mostly from the Naval Unit due to the DRA' H, SHARPE fact that but twelve men were excused from military duties in the afternoons, by the Army authorities. However the two units were about evenly represented on the team, six being from the Naval Unit and ive from the Army Unit. Although the men worked well and showed good form, the S.A.T.C. team was of about the same calibre as the third varsity of former years due largely to the fact that the ag- gregation was rather light, averaging only 167 pounds.
