The remaining classes have not talqen an active part. in soltlaall. Many memhers ot the school participated in informal lnaslcethall games in a local gymnasium. One year, however, a medical school laaslcethall 'team was organizect anal playect several games, although with little success, against other city merlical schools. The future of laaslqelihall at Cornell is promising, hecause the unr.lerclassmen are showing great interest. The game he- 'tween the thircl year class ancl the surgical rlepartment provecl interesting, entertaining, and fatal, particularly to the thircl year class. Many memhers of the school huilcl up their hoclies by playing hanclhall on the hos- pital court on the 241th lloor, in spite ol the fact that preference ot the courts is given to the faculty members. During the summer, tennis provecl to he the most popular ol' inclivirlual sports. As a matter of lact, the courts tool: quite a heating from the faculty, stuclents, and nursesl Nu Sigma Nu, to augment interest in the sport, conctuctecl annual tournaments open to all stuclents and faculty. The tournament was won in 19-13 lay Bennett Gemsong in 1944, hy Pete Stone, anct again in 1945 hy Pete Stone who, teamecl with Roy Kullqner, also won the ctoulales. At the close of 4 years activity in sports, several memhers of the gracluating class cteserve special mention for excelling in all sports-Franlc palumho, .lohn Vifoocteocli, Lou Farchione, Gil Houston, Dave Thompson, Eft Norton, llanlx Crane, George Cole- man, Frect Bailey, lfranlc Gilroy.
