“Ula 5 H1 tory Augtst 19, 1051, marked the dar when twenty nine entkusiastic freshmen JOIHBG the roll at Cornell High Scro 1 They lected 1 ICLPS, lo w pr sident, Kay Gourley vice president, Roger Morrison, secretary and treasurer, Patsy Simpson, student council m6mb0FS,Lucil1e Mobley and Jim Snyder Th re were twelve members in F F A , five members in th band, eight in chorus, and two were in the dance band Kay Gourley rep resent d our class as a Homecoming attendant We were then ini tiated in full and became full pledged members of Cornell High School For our trip at the end of the year, we spent a day at Starved rock During the year two members left us, and we had one new member, Jim Kearfott On August 28,l952, twenty seven sophomore students entered dear old C H S again Jim Baker moved before the yeax was over, so our class was president, Kaye Rosalie Cashmer, student council Again there were eight girls in F the students had We ended this ye On August 31 dimlnished again The officers were as follows M1115 vice president, Jim Snyder, secretary, treasarer, Bill Trainer, reporter, Kav Gourley, members were Patsy Simpson and Roger Morrison twelve members in F F A , five members in band, H A , and nine boys out for athlet1cs Ten of the honor of serving at the Junior Senior Prom ar with an all day trlp to Starved Rock 1953, twenty six indastrlous juniors began the it was over two had moved and one had quit on year, but before Gourley, vice president, Rosalie Cashmer, secretary, Charles Russow, treasurer, Jim Snyder, student counc 1, Kay Gourley and Jim barretson ln our junior year, we had eleven members in boys out football ketball six members in F H A , six students in band, and nine for athletics Rosalie Cashmer and Kay Gourley were cheerleaders, with Lucille Mobley Joining them in bas Twenty members took part in the junior play in which they all had fun Kay Gourley was chosen Homecoming queen with Patsv Simpson as one of her attendants Then Came our big event, the prom, with the theme being 'Colonial Gardens Jim Snyder was Master of Ceremonies at the banquet for us This was an eventful junior year August 30 195A began their last la to another dlstrict cers elected were Cashmer, treasurer, and Rosalie Cashmer members in chorus, represented the day when seventeen seniors p of the Journey Five members had been moved and one had quit during the summer The offi president, Roger Morrlson, secretary, Rosalie Charles Russow, student councll, Jim Snyder Our class was well represented with twelve six in band, nine in F F A , four in F H A and ten boys in athletics Kay Gourley and Rosalie Cashmer were elected cheerleaders The class play was a great success with all members taking part The name was 'Father was a Housewife , a comedy Kay Gourley was chosen Homecoming queen agaln this year with Rosalie Cashmer as an attendant Charles Russow was the homecoming King Kay Gourley was also D A R wlnner along with being editor of the yearbook These past four years are the most unforgetable ones and will always be remembered I1 X x xg 63 0 .
