We were really a headache when all the bells began to ring, and after everybody else was out of the halls there we stood, wondering where to go next. We chose as our class officers Marvin- Sdlroeder, Presidentg Duane Johnson, Vice-Presidentg Kathryn Burke, Secretaryg and Raymond Muth, Treasurer. Fifty-six of us were brave enough to come back as sophomores. During the year we sponsored several dances after games and did other things for class income. Officers for the year were Janet Swoboda, IP1-esidemg Kathryn Burke, Vice-President: Charles Burns, Secretaryg and Connie Bourget, Treasurer. ln our junior year we elected Duane Johnson, President: Gene Miller, Vice-Presidentg Kaye Guthrie, Secretary: and Marilyn Munz, Treasurer. The Desert Song was the theme of the prom April 23 with J immy Knight's orchestra. Duane Johnson and Marge Langeberg reigned as king and queen. Our class play, Rest Assured, was presented November 19 and 20 and netted S123.60, a new school record. With many pleasant memories of the past three years our senior year loomed majestically before us. Class officers were Gene Miller, Presidentg Connie Bourget, Vice-Presidentg Marion Burns, Secretaryg and Carol Saxe, Treasurer. Qtr all-school carnival on February 5 was a big success. Our class play, presented in ivlay, was a mystery-comedy entitled Finders Creep- ers. We all looked forward to class day exercises and commencerr' .W late in May, but when they finally arrived, they found many of us with mixed feelings of sadness and joy. Many years from now we hope to look back upon the wonderful memories of high school life as our happiest years. 4 'U 'T' BARBARA GEORGIA DORIS KATHRYN ASH BRUYETTE BUCHHOLZ BURKE CLASS CHARLES SHIRLEY BURNS COMSTOC K , C 3' LYLE CALVIN KENNETH MURIEL CONRAD CROTTY ESCHER FALKENBERG 5 ,fy A I A NANCY KAYE KATHRYN WALTER GEHRKE GUTHRIE HENTZ HETCHLER CLA ROBERTA KENNETH HILT HOOP LE DUANE ROBERT FRED SHIRLEY JOHNSON JOHNSTON KENNER KOHLS 6 of 1955 - N 1 ,ff HELEN BETTY JANE MARGIE PAT LANDON LANGEBERG LANGEBERG LANGEBERG ,,,,,.- f ,w-mow' PAUL LAURETTA LUCE MAUG FRANCIS WILLIAM DONAL BEVERLY MCMAHON MERCIER MILLER MITCHELL 7 any fcof-cv ,Za -0.4-ufvrf ffavvi gig! .6-rw wwf A W, , W' fy is-bidi? Fred Kenner replaces balloons at the dart throwing concession. The senior carnival, an annual event, was held this year tin Feb- ruary 5 in the grade school building Large crowds of townspeople were attracted to the two amateur hours -- one for grade school participants and one for high school age students. Concessions, like those pictured here and several others, filled the lower corridors and several class- rooms. An auction of food stuffs in the auditorium proved profitable and entertaining. The little tykes drew Marion Burns and large crowds to the Marge Langeberg hawk boxing ring. carnival favors. Hercules knows his uncle has taken a new job, but what he doesn't know is that Uncle is a mortician, The boys are all for heading home pronto when they discover this fact and especially when they find there's another guest in the house, an old boy named Jason Quigley who ran out of gas. His funera1's to be Monday. It's not long before things start happening in ways that would put most brave men to flight. For one thing, Mr. Quigley, the guest, walks around, reads the paper, and climbs in bed with Hercules. But Mr. Quigley isn't really deadg in his sleep someone tried to do away with him, so he evolved a plan: he'd make his family think he was dead, then show up at his own funeral and trap the guilty party. No doubt Mr. Quigley had a good plan, and things would have ended peacefully, but there were two things he failed to reckon with -- Wilbur and Hercules. They set out to solve the case and matters soon go from bad to worse to terrible. Hercules tips off his girlfriend, Nina, that her grandpop's aliveg she tips off the familyg and everything's messed up. The boys finally escape with their necks, but not before one of the wildest finishes ever with the doctor, whom no one suspected, the guilty partyg and the lawyer, whom everyone suspected, innocent as can be. Included in the cast were: Gene Miller, Calvin Crotty, Jerry Stordahl, Jack Williams, Donal Miller, Marian Burns, Marge Langeberg, Betty Langeberg, Nancy Gehrke, Doris Buchholz, Georgia Bruyette, and Shirley Kohls. 13 SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL DIRECTOR George Blanchard CLERK E, J, Mittermeyer O, T.
