college hall college hall, erected in l857, by l862 contained the college chapel, the library, a museum, three literary societies, and president william fletcher king. it still resembles the old lithographic reproductions on the outside, but is occupied within by several crowded and urgent bulletin boards, an air of sanitation from the clinic, the smell of tire rubber stair treads, an icy drinking fountain, and the varnished emblems of the vanished literary societies on the first floor walls, not to mention a new faculty lounge and various offices . . .
