1 - -au! -...A l it F ls. E li s 'L l 4 ,I 4 1 I I , I 'I I P I w Glass ffisfvry About 12 years ago two groups of scared and excited youngsters entered school for the first time, one group entering at Archers Lodge the other entering at Corinth-Holders. They had one task to do--open the closed doors of education. Now these same two groups have merged to form the Senior Class of Fifty-nine and have a greater task to do, another door to open- -the door of life. Our days in grammar school passed very rapidly, with parties and picnics highlighting each year. As green Freshmen we entered high school in the fall of '55, Our first look at our responsibili- ties frightened us but with the help of our outstanding guides, Mrs. Gilbertine Garner and Mr, George Spiritos, we soon became adapted to our duties and surroundings and became Sophomores. Mr. Clarence Woodard and Mr. J. C. Warrick were our guides in our second year of high school. With their help we soon became Juniors, As Juniors we had Mr, Yancey Aycock and Mrs. Gilbertine Garner to lead us. By this time we were acquiring a few more responsibilities. We enjoyed presenting our class play, The Funny Brats, We entered a Magazine Campaign in which we defeated the Seniors. Then came the one event to which we had looked forward to so long, the Junior-Senior Banquet. We had a very enjoyable evening. The memories of that night shall be very dear to each of us. In the fall of 1958 we finally became Seniors--the distinctive title of which we had been dream- ing of for eleven long years. With the leadership and guidance of Mr. Clarence Woodard and Mr. Phillip Averette, we packed many happy events into those short nine months, including class parties, publishing an annual, selecting and receiving class rings, presenting a class play, selecting invita- tions and calling cards, attending a Junior-Senior Banquet, sponsoring a barbecue supper, and finally making plans for our trip which was to bring to a close twelve happy years together. As we go out into the world to take our respective places too, we shall carry with us many happy and cherished memories of our days at Corinth-Holders High School. We hope that we prove our- selves worthy and capable in what ever path of life we choose. Rose Bunn Class Historian
