It is also on them that many of our outside activities are carried on. l As you roam the country, you can always tell by it's appearance, the building of learn- ing. ' It has a timeless, sturdy appearance, which let's you know it is a building of learn- ing. The arrival of the first school bus starts the day at Corinth-Holders School. In order to get each day off to a good start, Into the halls and onto the classes is an 3 scripture of 3 reference apt title for the thing which takes place a from the Blble 15 3 must- moment after each bell. Horiufh-Holders As students here at Corinth-Holders, we realize that we enjoy a privilege that few school students have. That is the one to have a smoking stand , Into the halls and into the classes, is an apt title for this picture. In high school one of the main privileges is the one to change classes. It gives a person time to rest his mind as well as his body, 5 u The loading of the school buses is a looked-forward- to time in our school day. We are proud of our buses and of the drivers. Their determined effort to make us satisfied and happy shall al- ways be remembered as one of our most precious high school memories. Words can't express our appreciation for their various contributionsg but to show how much we love, honor, and respect them, the 1959 Corinthian Staff dedicates the '59 Corinthian to the parents of the senior class. E li s 'L l 4 ,I 4 1 I I , I 'I I P I w Glass ffisfvry About 12 years ago two groups of scared and excited youngsters entered school for the first time, one group entering at Archers Lodge the other entering at Corinth-Holders. They had one task to do--open the closed doors of education. Now these same two groups have merged to form the Senior Class of Fifty-nine and have a greater task to do, another door to open- -the door of life. Our days in grammar school passed very rapidly, with parties and picnics highlighting each year. As green Freshmen we entered high school in the fall of '55, Our first look at our responsibili- ties frightened us but with the help of our outstanding guides, Mrs. Gilbertine Garner and Mr, George Spiritos, we soon became adapted to our duties and surroundings and became Sophomores. Mr. Clarence Woodard and Mr. J. C. Warrick were our guides in our second year of high school. With their help we soon became Juniors, As Juniors we had Mr, Yancey Aycock and Mrs. Gilbertine Garner to lead us. By this time we were acquiring a few more responsibilities. We enjoyed presenting our class play, The Funny Brats, We entered a Magazine Campaign in which we defeated the Seniors. Then came the one event to which we had looked forward to so long, the Junior-Senior Banquet. We had a very enjoyable evening. The memories of that night shall be very dear to each of us. In the fall of 1958 we finally became Seniors--the distinctive title of which we had been dream- ing of for eleven long years. With the leadership and guidance of Mr. Clarence Woodard and Mr. Phillip Averette, we packed many happy events into those short nine months, including class parties, publishing an annual, selecting and receiving class rings, presenting a class play, selecting invita- tions and calling cards, attending a Junior-Senior Banquet, sponsoring a barbecue supper, and finally making plans for our trip which was to bring to a close twelve happy years together. As we go out into the world to take our respective places too, we shall carry with us many happy and cherished memories of our days at Corinth-Holders High School. We hope that we prove our- selves worthy and capable in what ever path of life we choose. Rose Bunn Class Historian 611155 poem At Corinth long ago we met To begin a life we'1l n'er forget. We've worked together for many years, Years of heartaches, joys and tears. And though we leave our school behind, We'll remember classmates and teachers kind We thank each of you for what you've done. To make our race, a race well run. We'll remember, too, our parents dear Who pushed us on from year to year. We thank our friends and loved ones, too, Who encouraged us more good work to do. So students here at Corinth High The time has come to say goodbye, May God bless each and all of you Who've stood by us so straight and true. Frances Barnes Class Poet Song Dear Ole Corinth High we're leaving, Leaving the dear place we love so well. Dear Ole Corinth High we're grieving, Grieving for the place that is so swell. Now we're saying good-bye to you. You are the school, it's true. We'll go through life saying we love you too. We'll be so blue and lonely--longing for a place at Corinth High. Dear Ole Corinth High we're sighing, Sighing 'cause we hate to go, just yet. Dear Ole Corinth High, we're crying, Crying lonely tears of deep regret. How we're hoping that you'll go through, Go through life with truth. Scatter your light, say we'll do right, please do. We'll be so blue and lonely--longing for a place at Corinth High. Our Honor Club consists of those who have maintained better than average grades throughout their years in high school. They have shown great interests in keeping their grades at a high level. rflflmogram 61116 The Monogram Club consists of boys and girls who have participated in school sports enough to win letters. Some won letters in basketball, either by playing on the teams, by managing the teams, or by cheering them in victory or defeat. Others received letters by playing base- ball or by managing the team. We are proud of these worthy students for the many hours that they have given to make sports a success here at our school. Pima The piano students have studied hard this year.
