Slllllllll CLASS Ill 'l'llllY Our class history began back in l940 when we, demure little children with lunch boxes clutched tightly in our hands, entered school for the first time, Frightened by the newness of it all, we did not realize what changes would occur in our lives during the twelve years to follow. After a short while we adjusted to this life and had many happy years together The highlights of these first eight years were Christmas parties and picnics which greatly lightened the work. September of i948 marked the beginning of those real years, for it was then that we entered high school. lt was especially nice because there were sixty-one members of our class composed of those who had been at Corinth-l-lolders all the time and some from Archer's Lodge. We felt like one big happy family under the leadership of Miss Dulin and Mr. Shaver, Naturally we experienced the usual hardships that freshmen must endure, but we became sophomores in spite of it all Mr. Shaver and Mrs. Gainey were our sponsors that second year in high school. We still were of little importance, but we did have some of our girls selected to serve as waitresses for the Junior-Senior banquet. When we became Juniors, Mrs. Jenkins was our sponsor, We were really gaining prestige by this time. We thoroughly enjoyed presenting a class play Cheerio My Deariof' We entered - and won, mind you - a magazine campaign, Then came the truly great event of the year. We entertained the Seniors at a banquet carrying out the theme of a gypsy camp. After a very short summer, we became Seniors - that position for which we had worked and dreamed for so long, Into nine short months under the leadership of Miss Sadler we packed many happy events including publishing an annual, selecting and receiving class rings, presenting a class play, selecting invitations and calling cards, attending a banquet at which the Juniors entertained us, attend- ing several class parties, preparing for class night and graduation, sponsoring a barbecue supper, and finally making plans for a trip to Washington to mark the end of twelve happy years together.
