CLAS PIIIIPIIII After ten years of married life, I decided to take a long trip with my husband and two children. Hester Narron, editor of the New York Times, said we could use his private plane. We were surprised to see Jimmy Flowers as pilot and Sue Davis, Airline Stewardess. Our first stop was in Chicago. As we were looking around we saw a Barber Shop owned and operated by Aaron Skinner. His chief assistant was Drexel Thomasson. Our next stop was Kansas. I was told by Evelyn Perry, matron of the insane asylum, that two inmates had escaped and the examiner, Wallace Narron was on his way over. Policewoman, Ava Jean Hinnant sent out an alarm to be on the lookout. When we arrived in Oklahoma, I met detective Kenneth Eason. His assignment was to find the robber who had stolen Hilda Jean Hinton's diamonds. We stopped over in Texas to refuel and went to the rodeo show. Grady Blinson was the main attraction. When I went in the most exclusive shop in Dallas, there was Ruth Wheeler designing a wedding gown for Betty Jean Tippett. In Reno, Nevada I saw a hit and run driver. The woman was rushed to the hospital in the ambu- lance driven by Gene Wall. The interne, Graham Parrish took charge with the help of Elizabeth Narron, Dean of Nurses. The lady couldn't be saved, so they called the undertaker, Donnie Barham. As I was crossing the street I was almost hit by two fire trucks driven by Addie Williamson and Camilla Brantley. They were going to put out a fire at Hazel Hogge's shoe store. In California I was shocked to see Rex Renfrow, who was running for Governor, and his campaign manager Dewitt Thompson. We left California and started back to New York where we spent the night at the Waldorf Hotel, the manager of which was Geraldine Curtis. The next day we went to the World Fair. A leading attraction was Elsie Brinkley, the fortune teller. The next we saw was some stunts performed by the famous acrobat, Louise Stancil. That night at the Stork Club we enjoyed listening to the music of Pauline Narron's Band and the vocalist, Barbara Nell Boykin. Later in the week when I went to buy an evening gown, Laura Wilder and Wilma Davis were models. I then went to Evelyn Creech's Florist Shop to get a corsage. Our next entertainment was a trip to see the Hell Drivers and to my surprise, C. R. Johnson was among the best. v We made a stop in Washington, D. C. especially to see Thomas Poole, President of the United States and his body guard, Pat O'NeaI. His very efficient secretary was Jean Price. Our next stop was in Williamsburg, Virginia where Thelma Creech and Gloria Hocutt teach at William and Mary College. VVhen I returned home tired from my travels, I felt that the trip had been a profitable one, for I had seen each of my classmates along the way. JEAN HATHAWAY Class Prophet
