Basketball Boys FIRST ROW: lleft to rightl: Hugh Wilder, Billy Powell, Carl Price, Riley Narron, Bobby Hinton and Harold Hinton. SECOND ROW: Alvin Narron, George Henry Bell, lodie Strickland and Franklin Narron. THIRD ROW: Gilbert Crocker and limmie Rogers Flowers. CAMERA SHY: Cecil Price. The boys have practiced faithfully, under the coaching of Mr. Hinton, to make a good team. Carl Price and Riley Narron were elected co-captains of the l947--48 team. Wilbur johnson was chosen manager. The boys' team entered the American Legion Tournament at Kenly. With a lot of hard fighting they came out runners-up. The boys were proud of their trophy. Bobby Hinton, a forward, made the all-tournament team. Although the boys do not have a championship team, they are really proud of their record.

The girls won in the American Legion Tournament. Each girl received a gold basketball. lanis Rose Hinton and Annie Pearl O'Neal were elected for the all-star team.
