BARTHOLOMEW The class of 1982 would like to dedicate this yearbook to our advisors Mrs. Ginsburg and Mr. Bartholo- mew. They have dedicated many long, hard hours to help us reach our goals. They have taught us how to be different from others, and they were always there to give advice or to encourage us in our many endeavors. Through our not-so-harmonious times, they have stood firm, and we have gained many of our better qualities from this firmness. We would like to recognize their efforts and contributions to our class, but words alone cannot express our thanks. It is this yearbook, then, that we dedicate to them, not only to show our talents, abilities, and accomplishments, but to demonstrate to them as well what we have become, with their help, over the years. Mrs. Ginsburg and Mr. Bartholomew, our appreciation runs deep, and we the class of 1982 give our thanks together with the pledge that you will always continue to be in our thoughts. 2 APPRECIATION We the class of 1982 have made many friends in our years at Corinth Central. These friends bear various titles-teachers, classmates, best friends, acquaintances, and of course, parents. Their support and loyalty are greatly appreciated and will al- ways be remembered, as will the special contributions of friends who gave of themselves so freely. As the years progressed, we gained guidance from these many people. Teachers helped us in our activities as well as our studies. Mrs. Wilkinson was especially helpful as an advisor in our Senior year. At a time when talent shows were almost frowned upon, she, with the help of other teachers such as Miss Lattanzi, Mrs. Carney, Miss Fisk, Mr. DeJoseph, Mr. Scott, Mrs. Winslow, and others, took a chance with us. Over the years our class has worked together. These united efforts have built some leaders among us. One such class leader was Amanda Granier. She was one of the tri-editors of this yearbook and for three and a half years served as treasurer of our class. In January of 1982 she moved to Vestal, New York leaving us fond memories of her sunny disposition and her dedicated service. Although we owe much to these special people perhaps our greatest debt is to our parents. When others seemed to turn away, our parents stood by us, and have served as the most stable element in our lives. It was from this entire group that we gained our confidence and determination. It is ironic that words do not come easily when we strive to thank people who mean the most to us, but just the fact that we have these sample words committed to paper is lasting proof of our sincerity and appreciation. 3 RETIREES At the end of this school year, Corinth Central School will be losing to retirement two of our favorite teachers. Bill and Phyllis Towers, a husband and wife team who have given much of their careers to the education of Corinth youth. Mr. and Mrs. Towers are Corinthians both by birth and by choice, and their well-deserved retirement will leave a gap in the faculty that will be hard to fill. Mrs. Towers began her teaching career at eighteen in the Brocket District, a one- room schoolhouse containing children from kindergarten to eighth grade. She has taught in Luzerne as well as Corinth and, though she received her degree from SUNY Plattsburgh, she has also collected academic credits at SUNY Albany, SUC at Potsdam, and Syracuse University. Mr. Towers began his college work on Long Island and received his degree at SUNY Plattsburgh. Together with his wife, he taught for four years at the Greenfield School, and for the past sixteen years has taught fifth and sixth grade at Corinth. Both Towers reflect their enjoyment in teaching but look forward to a relaxing and enjoyable retirement. Best wishes to both from all of us. 4 EXCHANGE STUDENTS Annick Lievens Wend Wendland From Belgium to Corinth From South Africa to Corinth Kimberly Mann From Corinth to Finland Jennifer Gould From Corinth to New Zealand 5 IN MEMORY OF . . Renee Bogle Friendship is a special gift to give and to receive. Even when that friend is gone, the happy memories of friendship linger on. Renee was a very special member of the Class of 1982. She grew up with us and shared many of our happy moments and our sad moments as well. Renee was always there to “crack” a joke and put a smile on anyone’s face. Her friends varied, and she could often be found at sports events, not always participating physically, but cheering on one of her many friends, Renee was often mischievous and cheerful, but her friends knew her to have a serious side, and it was this seriousness that bound us to her. On one tragic night we lost our friend in a car crash. As the emotional wounds begin to heal, we can look back and remember those happy memories of Renee, which will never die, and we, the Class of 1982, are thankful that we could share a part of Renee’s, life. Theresa Dingman Theresa had cystic Fibrosis through all of her years with us. She always showed her courage by smiling and living as normal a life as possible — a rare quality to be found in a girl of her tender years. Theresa died in the middle of our fourth grade. Her death left us confused and sad. Theresa’s courage and strength helped us to accept the realitites of life. We, the Class of 1982, will always remember Theresa with warmth in our hearts. 6 RONDA LEE SHAYNE Corresponding Secretary Rhoda From the heart comes the cour- age to grow in faith and happi- ness.” KRISTI KAREN JENSEN Co-President Headache Give the world the best you have and the best will come back to you.
