WELCH We, the Class of '73, would like to dedicate our yearbook to two deserving people; Mr. John Nolan and Mrs. Joan Welch. They are deserving, not only for their excel- lence in teaching, but mainly for their community services. Mrs. Welch is always there when something needs that woman's touch. She is forever helping make their prom or wedding gowns, advising school organizations, and planning everything from teas to banquets. Her activities aren’t only connected with the school, but with the whole communi- ty. She is an active member of the Adirondack Regional Hospital Auxiliary and the Corinth Youth Center. Her biggest project is the annual Operation Joy program. Here she collects, packages, and delivers clothes, food, and toys to the needy families in the area. The remarkable trait about Mr. Nolan is how he gives so unselfishly of his time to a community ttiat, unfortunately for us, he doesn't even live in. Helping children grow up in a better environment seems to be his first love. He has been instrumental in establishing the Little League and Babe Ruth baseball clubs. He has served on the Corinth Youth Commission for several years and played a great part in starting our suc- cessful youth center. He is one of these men who seem not only to join an organiza- tion, but to make the organization. We have named some of the wonderful things these two people have done for our community. We just want them to know that their efforts are recognized and appre- ciated. We, the Class of '73, would like to express our appreciation to flA i . fa c oujgoM, Owv Cktss A mso He has been with us since our money making activities began. Mr. MacDougall has always been willing to give his fullest support to us. For example, the night before our Prom, he stayed until 1:00 in the morning helping us with our decorations. He has taken our razing and criticism without comment. Mr. MacDougall has been an asset to our class that we could not have done without. R tfoUig ikack i Ui tOiv Wo$V v This year's Retiring Teacher is Mr. Milton Wolven. Mr. Wolven has been band leader and Instrumental instructor for 15 years. The class of '73 would like to express our deepest gratitude toward Mr. Wolven. The devotion Mr. Wolven put forth will affect us the rest of our lives. May God Bless Him and His Future Plans. fli fiAj JMHiOum U is. LyfcwL U is. Shotey “Lee Lyford was a person devoted to the teaching of children. She understood them, loved them, disciplined them, but above all she taught them. Lee had a great love for all of nature and imparted it to those around her. She had a quiet demeanor, never re- sorting to harshness. Underneath the quiet- ness, was a firmness of purpose, which the children recognized. She was not a stag- nant person. She was always open to new and better ways to improve her teaching. Being a very well-read person, she was a joy to converse with, as you could always glean something from her vast knowledge. The children of Corinth, her family, and her friends were enriched by having known her. May she have found the peace, she so richly deserved, and may we never forget the wealth she brought to each and every one of us. This year, the senior class sees in our heartfilled memory, Mrs. Mabel Shorey. At this time, we are proud to express our deep admiration and loving respect for her loyal years as Corinth Librarian. Mrs. Shorey has helped us make it to our senior year. Mrs. Mabel Shorey, her friend- ship and guidance, will long be remembered and missed not only by the class of 1973, but by all who knew her. ?0q do not $aaiR, -tor( o R.ouJ $o oj 2 Y aucz 5czc?n c a -tci cLOy | and U3(2 Lfioe today Cfass KEVIN PLETTE - President MIKE NILES - Vice President Something attempted, something done has earned a nights repose. They said it couldn't be done, so he tackled it with a smile and found - it couldn't be done. DONNA KRUGER - Secretary DOUG BORDEAUX - Treasurer The heart has reasons of which reason has no knowledge. How sweet the blush of bashfulness. JUDY BEDORE SANDY BERG We want a few mad people now - look where the sane ones have landed us. A quiet conscience makes one so serene. Only so much I know as I have lived. DENNIS BOLLER DON BOLTON The most convincing argument in the world is intelligent silence. A teenager is going thru a trying period - try- ing to avoid study and trying to avoid work. it KONIE BUTLER JOHN CHANDLER Good, the more communicated, the more abundant grows. Enjoy when you can; endure when you must. KAREN CLOTHIER OTTO CLARK The true measure of a man is taken around the heart, not the head. Speak low if you speak love. WAYNE CLOTHIER We see things not as they are, but as we are. GARY COLSON Character is something a man either is or has. TANYA CORAPI It is not easy to be a pretty woman without creating trouble. MICHELE COWLES DICK DARRAH Man has his will but woman her way. In order to be happy one must not only know love's passion but also love's pleasure. MIKE GOODHART MICHELE DUVAL All art is a kind of subconscious madness ex- pressed in terms of sanity. I start where the last man left off. JOHN HICKEY CARL HOLT Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we may die. Be calm in arguing for fierceness makes error a fault and truth discourtesy. DIANE LAMARINE Those eyes soft and capacious as a cloudless sky. DEBBIE LaROSE SID LaPIER In everything that matters the inside is much larger than the outside. Laugh while you can, everything has its time. It matters not how long you live, but how. BRUCE LONG Variety is the spice of life. JIM LONG A brother may not be a friend, but a friend is always a brother. COLLEEN LOZIER The greatest of all pleasure is the pleasure of giving pleasure. CURT MADISON LONNY MADISON He alone is an acute observer who can observe minutely without being observed. The brotherhood of man is a wonderful idea. MICHAEL McKELLIGOTT TINA MEILLEUR Kindness, joyfulness, tolerance. Moderation is the silken string running through the pearl-chain of all virtues. LAURIE MERTON A laugh cures everything. GARY MILLIS SUE MONICA We cannot love something without wanting to fight for it. The happiest person is the person who thinks the most interesting thoughts. JOHN MONTGOMERY Some people sell themselves to the devil; others rent themselves out by the day. SHERYL MORROW One must talk little, and listen much. JOHN MOSES And still they gazed, and still the wonder grew that one so small a head could carry all he knew. GENE MOSHER KAREN MOSHER Thou sayest such an undisputed thing in such a solemn way. The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. JOHN MOYER CAROL O'NEILL Men of few words are the best men. It takes a very unusual mind to undertake the analysis of the obvious. LORIE PACCO I spell by ear altogether, spelling a word the way it sounds, which is frequently much simpler than the way academic sharps put it. BONNIE PASSINO RICK PETRO It is prosperity that gives us friends; adversity that proves them. Laugh, and the class laughs with you, but you stay after school alone. STAN PILLESKY Life is just a dirty four-letter word: W-O-R-K. CRYSTAL PIX LEY BILL POTTER An aquaintance that begins with a compli- ment is sure to develop into a real friendship. Not all who auto ought to. LEO PRIMEAU Contentment is the best of all riches. DONNA RALPH We have the power to make this generation the greatest in the history of mankind; or to make it the last. KATHY ROBINSON Friendship is the wine of life. SHEILA REYNOLDS Anticipating pleasure is also a pleasure. PAM ROZELL SUE SAUNDERS The end of wisdom is to dream high enough not to lose the dream in the seeking of it. I do not want the peace which passeth under- standing, I want the understanding which bringeth peace. DANA SCHERMERHORN DAN SHIPSKI To have joy one must share it - happiness was born a twin. I shall need to sleep three weeks on end to get rested from the rest I've had. RAY STEVENS To the practical joker everyday of the year is April 1st. GEOFF TOWERS AMY TOWERS Be your own florist: Wreathe your face in smiles. The deeper the thought, the higher you must climb to grasp it. LAURIE TRACY DEB VanNOY The man that blushes is not quite a brute. Well, no offense: Thar ain't no sense in genin' riled. TIM WATTS What matters is your heart. DEB WINSLOW I believe it, just because it's unbelievable. JEFF WINSLOW There are two roads you can go by, but in the long run there's still time to change the road you’re on. JOHN WOODCOCK JOSE ORTIZ The man you are is proud of the boy you were. A true friend walks in when the rest of the world walks out. Byd tfuicje, Ctudetcts Next year the Rotary will send two Corinth students to foreign nations. Pamela Howard will go to Sweden and Christie Milligan will travel to Holland. The program has also sponsored Lucinda Mosher in the Phillipines this year. Jose Luis Ortiz is spending a year in Corinth under the Rotary Exchange Program. J06 Orffy It's kind of hard to say good bye ... When you know how much you were beloved. When you know you are leaving home (your three homes), because you are on your way home. When you think about your friends, so many friends. When you realize what this means to your life: You are ready. When you see the town, your town, forgotten for many maps, which among many things taught you the mojt important; how to live. When you remember the team, the teachers, the girls, the dictionary, the class ring ... It's so hard to say good bye, when you see the hope of return so far away. I see die traveling bags and they remind me of that song: In the end, the things you made, remain, you will be gone, others who come will continue them: the life keeps on going. I shake hands, it's time to go, I thank everybody with my soul rather than with my words, raise the handker- chief toward my eyes, and I finally say it ... Good Bye. Jose 114 115 Ternis ROW 1: B.
