contuit tan CORINTH CENTRAL SCHOOL - CORINTH WYOfiK 2 frebitutum He, who gives so much to the well-being of man, asks little for himself. ” Anonymous The Class of 1971 takes deep pride in dedicating their yearbook to our very deserving and dedicated teacher, Mr. Nicholas C. Matino. Since our Junior High years, we have recognized'him not only as a teacher, but also as a true friend. Easch class period gave us a purpose and an eagerness to go on learning. On the eve of our Graduation, we see him entering into a broader aspect of the teaching profession. We sincerely hope that the ability with which he has been endowed, will be enriched with the ability to guide. Because we have benefited from Mr. Matino's teaching, we are now better citizens. May you be happy and successful in your new position, Mr. Matino. The Class of 1971 will long remember your teaching, your friendship, and your jokes. y. . vv, v fetm r. mi Her tn ntemnnam The comfort of having a friend may be taken away, but not that of having had one. ” Seneca As our Senior year draws to a close, we find etched in our minds the memory of our very dear friend and colleague, Kim R. Miller. Our reflections show us a boy who ex- celled in school and was a superb athlete. Yet, with all his achievements, he had the time to be a friend to young and old. He always gave an all-out effort to everything he undertook. This he proved while he was President of our Junior Class. No one will ever realize the many long and difficult hours he spent making our Junior Prom one of the most successful in many years. With these priceless memories in our hearts, we, the Senior Class wish to leave our yearbook in memory of Kim R. Miller. seniors 7 10 11 taralim hulka ntaji 18 sterling Itctniierlnerker man i 1 karen holu'g maji 18 12 13 14 u huntlc r ijri'u may 3U james mbinsun ;une 7 philip muses btne 10 bclmrah pcbcrson tunc 25 phjillts toiwb tunc 24 ccril nuiehcr tunc 15 16 l mn rlnthier june 27 carni haskcll u 3 mtrhacl bcnsmnre iulji 7 17 John sh'lunis iuli 12 lli l ijail Icifnuntatn ;ulj? Here at the end of the Senior pages, pages that will always bring back fond memories of twelve great years at C. H. A final tribute is paid to the Seniors at the last game. Spirit Week '71. The week that was! This past year each class had an opportunity to compete for the honor of being able to say, We have more spirit than our counterparts. Well, what can you say, the class of '72 emerged victorious in a close battle. Each class did more than their part and the gym was covered with posters. Congratulations for the fine effort are due to all of the classes, especially the winners. Thanks are due to the fearless scapegoats, the judges. The result of course was a double victory and the spirit and momentum carried over hopefully into future when Spirit Week will no longer be Spirit Week. It will be Spirit Year! Dennis Doody accepts the winning trophy for the Junior class. 82 What form!!! The ball goes on the floor, Phil! C'mon Vandey, REACH! What is this? A. with the International Fellowship and liked it very much. My parents also liked this because my brother's English had im- proved and he had learned about American customs. Because of this I decided to go the next year. The day before my airplane left, December 21, I was happy be- cause I would be going to explore a new country, but sad because I would be away from my family for three months. Now that it is almost time to return to Brazil and leave Corinth, all my first doubts and fears are resolved. It was a marvelous time. These three months went by very fast and everything that I learned was really different and exciting. I don't hesitate in saying that I want to come back again. I would like to thank the Speildenner family, the school and finally all of Corinth for making this an unforgettable experience. b.o.t.e.s. Chantal Amarante exchange The four of us were chosen by the Experimenting International Living” through B.O.C.E. S. to travel to England for four weeks last summer. We all stayed in various parts of Somerset in southern England with British families for the first three weeks. The fourth week the entire group of approximately one hundred American students went to Lon- don. While in London we visited well known places such as West- minster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Tate Gallery, Royal Albert Hall, 10 Downing Street and Parliament. On August 8 we all returned to the U.S. after an enjoyable experience. 84 E. Mandigo, H. Grey, S. Higgins, B. Trope. rotary exchange Cheryl Spieldenner I had a very nice time this year and how fast the time passed. I became friends in Corinth with many people. They were very kind and nice. They helped me with English and many other things. I am very glad to graduate from Corinth Central School which has good teachers and many nice stu- dents. My thanks to all teachers, especially Mr. Commings and students for their kindness and advice. I hope to come back to Corinth again someday. Sayoanara! As you know, I spent the year 1969-70 in Argentina. During that time I visited many places from the Andes to Buenos Aires to Parana. My home was in the middle of a desert in an oil region. The town, Cutral-Co or Agua de fuego, means Petroleum in Indian. My family, the Knizniks, was a typical Argentine family of Jewish background. I would like to take this opportunity to say that I had some of my best times there and would like to thank all the teachers who helped me acclimate to my Argentine social and academic environment. 85 Yozo Mori 86 oruanizatums M.
