As Freshmen, we entered High School ,with high hopes and varied interests. Each student had his own goal before him at which he would strive during his future High School days. Our only proiect during this year was the Freshman-Sophomore Round and Square Dance. With the election of officers, our leaders were chosen. Our President was Sylvia Kokot, Vice President-Leonard Gardner, Secretary-Donna Cole, and Treasurer-Judy Schlagenhauf. Our class advisor was Mrs. Buchholz. During our Sophomore year, our only activity was the Freshman-Sophomore Round and Square Dance . Our class officers as a result of elections that year were: President-Leonard Gardner, Vice President-Vera Smart, Secretary-Marilyn Brickman, and Treasurer-Donna Cole. Our class increased this year with the combining of the Sophomore class of East Pembroke with those of Corfu, and our two class advisors were Mrs. Buchholz and Mr. Carney. Our first activity in our Junior year was the Junior-Round and Square Dance. We chose Freddie Herman and his orchestra for this occasion. Our one big event was the Junior-Senior Prom for which we chose the theme lsle of Capri. We engaged Eddie Deem's Orchestra to supply the music. A King and Queen were chosen from the Senior class and a Prince and Princess from the Junior class. We supplied four members of our class to the new National Honor Society in our school. The class officers this year were: President-Leon- ard Gardner, Vice President-Eugene Bjckwith, Secretary-Vera Smart, and Treasurer-Robert Funke. Our class advisors this ear were Mr. Carne an Mr. Heaton. As we arg now preparing for graduation in our Senior year, our activities are many. The class officers e- lected this year are: President-Leonard Gardner, Vice President-Sylvia Kokot, Secretary-Joanne Morgan, and Treasurer-Volkhard Frega. Our Senior Round and Square Dance netted S124. The Magazine Campaign proved another profitable undertaking and added an additional S1000 to our treasu . Adding to the interest of our Senior Class, we presented a comedy in three acts entitled Gone with the girls. ln December, we received our class rings and Senior pictures. Our class advisor this year is Mr. Heaton, to whom we now ex- tend our sincere thanks for a wpgderful year. We are now looking forward with great anticipation to our Jun- ior-Senior Prom to be held in t Spring. As we now leave the doors of Corfu, our memories will linger for many years on the highlights of our past Corfu School Days. We now leave our best wishes and thoughts of success to our immediate successors at Corfu Central School, in the hopes that their Senior year will prove as exciting to them as it has to us. 23
