T ,A LEAVES OF GROWTH A branch on a tree with tiny buds reaches for the sk 5 The buds young and strong are eager to grow. Overhead in the clear bright sky, small birds Fly. On the branches some changes begin to show. The tiny buds are no longer now. Tiny leaves appear in their place. The branch gently sways and the leaves seem quiet and serene. But inwardly they are growing as If In a great race. To catch and hold onto a future dream. In their second stage: first as a bud, now a leaf, They have grown full with ambition and never ending search. They look to the sky to broaden their belief. From their branch they cannot be shaken by a sudden lurch. The leaves grow older and their color grows full. Now they are ready to iourney their separate ways. From their branch they shall soon begin to pull, And they shall flutter as the branch once again sways. Some of them fall to the ground and settle downp Others are carried along by a gentle breeze. They are looking for their own special crown, And a glory they one day may seize.
