Class Histor S we leave our school and go out into the world to face new and greater responsibilities, we can look back with deep appreciation on the wonder ful times we have had during our high school career. Our class was organized in September 1947 and our first act as high school students was to elect class officers: Donald Anawald, President, Sylvia Tojdowski, Vice Presidentg Lola Boyd, Secretary, and Douglas Lotz, Treasurer. Together with the Sophomore Class, we sponsored a successful Hal- loween dance to the music of Kenny Lowe and his Ex-Checks. The following year we were joined by the East Pembroke sophomores, and under the leadership of our class officers Rudolph Holnbeck, President Diane Kelsey, Vice-Presidentg Marjorie Siebert, Secretary, and Donald Anawald, Treasurer, we began to try our wings--venturing into partici- pation in many extra-curricular activities, including band, choir, football, basketball, baseball and the speaking contest. The event of the year was our Freshman-Sophomore square dance, where we were slightly bedraggled at its conclusion. We also had a booth at the F. H. A. carnival from which we realized a good profit. As proud upperclassmen we began our Junior year by electing the following officers: Alvin Guard, Presidentg Donald Anawald, Vice-Presi- dentg Norman Groth, Secretary, and Richard Eick, Treasurer. We pub- lished four issues of our Junior Paper Corfutopia , with the assistance of Mr. Lamb, our advisor. In addition to our square dance, we provided an enchanted evening for all those who attended our Junior Prom on May ll, even though we did lose money on this venture. In September 1950, our hopes were fulfilled--we were finally Seniors. Among the activities which we sponsored in this busy last year were our square dance, a magazine campaign headed by Janice Brown, Diane Kelsey, and general chairman, Rudolph Holnbeck, in which we sold over S2150 worth and received a beautiful plaque for our efforts, and our Sen- ior Play, SAVED BY THE BELLE which was presented to the public on December 5 at East Pembroke and on December 6 at Corfu. This year we replaced the traditional Senior Ball by a combined Junior-Senior Ball which was held on April 27, with the music provided by Sunny Dow and his Orchestra. The expenses were shared by both classes. We hope that this will become an annual affair at Corfu High. We are now ending our journey through high school--ending one journey but beginning another. What the future holds for us we do not know, but we do know that we shall do our best to succeed. IZ
