We played hard and won the game by a score of Z7-0. The following week we met Dora on Kerby Field. We slipped by them 14-0, but in doing so we lost our quarterback, Herbert Underwood who could not finish the season because of an injured knee. We met Curry next. Although they played a rough game, we won 40-0. The next week we played Thompson High School on their field. The Blue Devils played hard and won the game 13-0. The next week was Homecoming. We paraded through town that day to raise spirits for the coming night. We had a large crowd that night to witness the game. As 7:30 ticked around the game started. We scored first and expected to win un- til we saw Carbon Hill pass to a touchdown. That tied the score and the game ended 6-6. We played Walker next. The Blue Devils played hard and tried every trick, but we lost 6-0. We met Oakman next. The Blue Devils tried hard to win this game, but came out on the short end of a 13-6 score. The following two weeks we played two out-of-county teams. They were Marion and John Carrol. We won by score of 13-0 and 33-19 respectively. That ended the regular season. The annual Thanksgiving game was to be played in two weeks. No team as yet had been declared Champions, and we hoped that we would be declared Walker County Champs but were disappointed when Carbon Hill was. . On Thanksgiving Day, we played Carbon Hill on Kiro Field in Jasper. We scored two touchdowns in the first quarter, which lost the game for the Champs .
