CLASS HISTORY On August 27, 1962, 16 somewhat bewildered and slightly scared Freshmen be- gan their journey through the halls of Corder High School. We elected the following officers to lead our class: Johnnie Martens, President; Doug Lorenz, Vice-Presi- dent; Cheryl Tracy, Secretary; Toney Manning, Treasurer; and James Holman, Re- porter. Mr. John Gahagan was our class sponsor. We sold sweatshirts and sponsored a Hobo Dance in the spring. We were sorry to lose Harold Franklin, Patsy Nauser, and Sharon Winfrey at the end of this year. On August 26, 1963, 13 Silly Sophomores returned to classes. We elected the following officers: Barbara Schroeder, President; Margie Edwards, Vice-President; Cheryl Tracy, Secretary; Judy Klussman, Treasurer; and James Holman, Reporter. Mr. Roy True was our class sponsor. We sold Christmas cards and candy as money-making projects. We were happy to welcome Rosemary Brooks and Winnie Draper to our class. We sponsored a Record Hop in the spring. At the end of the year the Sophomore-Senior Breakfast was held with the theme, School Daze.” Also, at the end of the year, we were sorry to lose Rosemary Brooks from our class. Fifteen Jolly Juniors returned on August 31, 1964. We were happy to count Paul Stockwell as a class member. Our class officers were: Johnnie Martens, President; Vickie Melton, Vice-President; Cheryl Tracy, Secretary; and Doug Lorenz, Treasurer. Our class sponsors were Mrs. Ann Schumaker and Mr. John Gahagan. We sold magazines as a money-making project. We were happy to receive our class rings. We sponsored the Christmas Dance. We were also happy to welcome Elaine Butler to our class in the spring of the year. The high-light of our year was the Junior- Senior Banquet and Prom, Over the Rainbow, held on May 14, 1965. On August 30, 1965, 17 Serious, Sophisticated, Seniors entered the halls of Corder High School for their final year. We were happy to welcome Earline Ray as a class member. Our class officers are: Barbara Schroeder, President; Doug Lorenz, Vice-President; Edith Humburg, Secretary; and Judy Klussman, Treasurer. Our class sponsor is Mr. Louis Sander. We sponsored the Courtwarming on January 7, and a Chili Supper on February 1, 1966. We are also planning a Senior Play, to be held in March. Baccalaureate Services will be on May 15, and we re- ceive our diplomas on May 19, 1966. We look forward to the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, the Sophomore-Senior Breakfast, and our Senior Trip. In conclusion, we the Seniors of 1966, express our thanks and appreciation to the faculty, the Board of Education, and especially to our parents, who have given us their help and guidance through these four most memorable years of our life. 16
