Class History We, the Seniors of 1963-'64, after four long years of hard and conscientious labor, have arrived upon the final scene of our life in Corder High School, In the fall of 1960 we entered Corder High School, a little timidly, to begin our ed- ucational journey of four years. To get the venture off to a fine start, we, the 17 members of the Freshman class, chose the following officers: Jerry Brown, President; Mike Winfrey, Vice-President; Gene Deterding, Secretary; Bruce Morgan, Treasurer; Claudia Winfrey, Re- porter. Coach Buhlig was our sponsor. We sponsored the “Mr. UBIS dance. Our can- didate for the ugliest boy in school, Jim Aversman, won. At the beginning of our Sophomore year we found that we had lost three students. They were: Richard Westhoff, Rodney Oldehoeft, and Larry Fiene. We elected the following to lead our class: Claudia Winfrey, President; Mary Ann Martin, Vice-President; Wilma Ernstmeyer, Secretary; Jo Ann Lilleman, Treasurer; Mary Jane Martens, Reporter. Mr. True was our sponsor. Our class sponsored at St. Patrick's dance and also the Sophomore- Senior breakfast. We sold candy and greeting cards as money making projects. We se- lected Jo Ann Lilleman as our candidate for Carnival Queen. Jim Aversman was her escort. When roll call was answered our Junior year we found we had 13 members. We had lost Claudia Winfrey. The following officers were elected: Mary Jane Martens, President; Jo Ann Lilleman, Vice-President; Mary Ann Martin, Secretary; Wilma Ernstmeyer, Treasurer; Carol Hajek, Reporter. Our class sponsor was Mrs. Schumaker. We sold magazines and candy as money making projects. We also had a bake sale. We selected our class rings and received them. We sponsored a Christmas dance. The high-light of the year was the Junior- Senior banquet and prom carrying out the theme, Southern Serenade held on May 3, 1963. Now we are beginning the last lap of our journey through dear old C.H.S. At last we are Seniors! Our class officers are: Mike Winfrey, President; Gene Deterding, Vice-Pres- ident; Bruce Morgan, Secretary; Jim Aversman, Treasurer. Mr. Sander is our sponsor. We honored the Freshman class at a Get Acquainted dance early in the year. We sold C.H.S. pins. Our class has been publishing a school paper, the Blue-Jet. We took a Skip Day early this fall and went to Bagnell Dam. Coach Gahagan and his wife went as sponsors. We had a chili supper January 17. Our class sponsored the 1964 Court- warming on February 4. We are also planning a Senior play. Our Baccalaureate services will be May 10. On commencement night. May 14, 1964, we will receive our dipolmas. We are looking forward to the Sophomore-Senior breakfast and the Junior-Senior banquet and prom. In conclusion, we, the Seniors of 1964 express to the faculty, the student body, and the entire community our sincerest thanks for the help and pleasant associations which have made these four years memorable ones in our lives. As we go into different pathways, may the best of luck follow each one. 16
