Senior Class History On August 31, 1956, thirteen green freshmen wandered into Corder High School. The following officers were elected to lead the class: Joyce Cole . Pat Goetz . . Carole Portell Bob Pragman . . President Vice President . . Secretary . . Treasurer Our class sponsor was Miss Taylor. We had a bake sale for a money-making pro- ject. The class had a wiener roast and a hayride. We were also glad to welcome Sue Hack- ley back into the class in April. The King and Queen candidates were Sharon Tieman and Walter Short. Once again thirteen silly Sophomores entered C.H.S. Starting off the school year we elected the following class officers: Joyce Cole . , Sharon Tieman Carole Portell, Pat Goetz . . Lolita Goetz. , . . President Vice President . . Secretary . . Treasurer . . . Reporter The class sponsor was Mr. True. The class sold Christmas cards for a money- making project. We also sponsored the Sophomore-Senior breakfast. Our King and Queen candidates were Ronnie Liese and Carole Portell, Carole being elected the Carnival Queen. Her escort was Ronnie Liese. We were sorry to lose Walter Short from our class. We also gave a St. Patrick’s Dance on March 7, 1958. We were also sorry to lose Carol Arth. Our Junior year was a busy one. We elected the following officers to lead the class: Joyce Cole........................President Barbara Hockensmith .... Vice President Pat Goetz.........................Secretary Sharon Tieman.....................Treasurer Lolita Goetz.......................Reporter Our class sponsor was Mrs. Ann Schumaker. We sold magazines for a money-making project. The theme of the Prom was A Song in My Heart.” It was held on May 1, 1959. We were sorry to lose Ronnie Liese by death. Also Carole Portell and Dale Driskell left during the year. Barbara Hockensmith moved after school was out. On August 31, 1959, eight sophisticated Seniors entered C.H.S. for the last time. Our class officers are: Robert Pragram.................... President Joyce Cole....................Vice President Linda Schaller.................... Secretary Sharon Tieman......................Treasurer Our class sponsor is Mr. Sander. On March 24, 1959, with the help of Mr. True and Mr. Edson, the Seniors had a very successful play. Our King and Queen candidates were Sharon Tieman and Burdette Horstman. On February 5, 1959, we held a Valentine Dance. The Seniors surprised the faculty of C.H.S. with their sneak day September 19. We are now looking forward to the prom, the breakfast, and especially, to graduation day.
