When This group of sTurdy sea scullions TirsT ioined The crew here aT CUHS as Treshmen, They were a bunch oT bewildered seamen, buT They soon began learning The ropes and had many dances and acTiviTies. As oarsmen, in Their sophomore year, They sTaged a much Talked abouT ChrisTmas Ball. The dance was in The Thursday Club. The Theme: Jingle Bells. The gunners carried Their good repuTaTion fnTo an acTive iunior season. As Third-year apprenjricemen They Toiled loyally, wiTh con- cessions aT The TooTball and baskeTball games, and indicaTed a Tine group spiriT. OT course, The highlighT which climaxed The many hours oT work puT in by The iuniors was The TradiTional Junior-Senior Prom. The Theme was OrienTal Gardens, and everyone agreed iT was The mosT successTul prom in many a year. When They Tinally emerged as MasTers This year, They proved Their seaworThiness gained by Tour years on The open sea. Their Two big evenTs were The senior Trip and, of course, graduaTion. The annual Trip was an enioyable and proTiTable Tour, Thanks To a loT oT hard work in planning by Mrs. Edi+h Robinson, adviser. Seniors raised money Tor iT by having conces- sions aT all The home TooTball and baskeTbaII games and aT The Corcoran rodeo. AnoTher proiecT was The annual donkey baskeTball con- TesT. in which The TaculTy edged The seniors, I8 To I6. The class sponsored many aTTer-game hops and also special downTown sales. This is The lasT voyage oT The seniors. IT has been TeaTured by ordering oT announcemenTs, picTures, and senior sweaTers. The class was quided by CapTain Leonard Thiqpin, wiTh Bill Squire assisTing.
