The conresr was sponsored by 'rhe Corcoran Garden Club and received much publicily. lThe prolograph ol presenialion was published in lhe local paper as well as lhe Fresno Bee.l A novel idea was Iried Ihis year. Under lhe direcrions of lvlr. Wallcer and Mr. Edmonds, noon dances were planned lo 'reach srudenrs lo dance or Trnprove lheir dance ing. The girls, as leachers were admiried Tree. By paying a small Fee. 'rhe boys received some inslruclion and were able lo alrend The regular school dances. This plan was carried our each noon for a weelc. We fell rhis proved very successlul and was doubly inieresring. because recordings, made from The radio programs oi dance orcheslras and popular vocal seleclions, were used. ln Ihe lirsl sernesler lhe Sophomore Class sponsored rhe Red Cross drive. A dance was given in 'rhe clubroom and a calce auclion was held in rhe audirorium. As individuals, 'rhe sludenls eniered info and excelled in various sporls and acliv- ilies. We feel 'rhal our Sophomore Class has accomplished much.
