' Even though our basic personality is shaped in the first tive years of our lives, we continue to grow emotionally through elementary school, junior Lx high, and senior high. Our teachers will K ft f be long remembered as playing a big l part in this growth. They have con- tributed greatly to our outlook on life by shaping our personalities. The Faculty at Corcoran is encouraging by giving helpful advice and strong sup- port in our clubs and organizations. A great percentage of the teachers are willing to devote their free periods in addition to after-school time to help their students obtain a more confident attitude in their studies or personal lives. As we leave Corcoran, now is the time to use this knowledge, which we have accumulated over the years, in planning our lives. Captains and the Kings Gordon Hershberger Dear Seniors, Congratulations to the Class of 1978! Your experiences at Corcoran High School will soon be history. You are about to encounter a variety of new challenges and experiences which will be in a much larger environment than that provided in the halls of Corcoran High School. We hope your years at Corcoran have been productive ones. lt has been our intent to prepare each of you with certain skills, knowledge, and behaviors that can be used as each graduate enters the larger world of living and learning. We want you to be sen- sitive, alert, and knowledgeable individuals in this larger society. We have appreciated the Class of 1978! You have been as extremely talented group of students. Many of you have contributed a great deal to Corcoran, including your aca- demic achievements, student leadership, and participation in extra-curricular events. Please continue with this type of effort af- ter you leave us. A new addition to the Corcoran admin- istration this year was Virginia Maron- ey. Her main duties are advising Jun- Alan Steinburg One of our two vice-principals is Alan Steinberg. He is married and he and his wife are expecting their first child. Over the past four years he has been working on his doctorate in educational admin- istration at Syracuse University. He hopes to finish it soon. Mr. Steinberg, a native of NYC, first carrie to Syracuse where he attended Syracuse University. He later taught English at Central Tech until it closed. In his spare time, between night school and Corcor n, he enjo s ennis, skiing, softloal ,an . ravel. iors and monitoring the cafeteria and p hallways. Virginia has one son and en- S!
