I can't go out tonight, I gotta work, is a typical Friday night statement that Corcoran students have made during their high school years. These part- time working students are lucky, Cyes, luckylj because jobs at this time are hard to come by, let alone jobs for teenagers. Despite long hours put in, students find time to enjoy their in- come. Much of this spending money' goes into buying records, tapes, food, drinks, steppin' out styles, car insur- ance, gas, and scores of other neces- sitiesv. Employers of these laboring students include fast-food chains, grocery stores, department stores, hospitals, restau- rants, gas stations, and drug stores. These are only a few of the many estab- lishments that supply opportunities for the plentiful workforce available from area high schools. The working experience these students receive from their part-time jobs aids them in the success of future full-time employment. A taste of the business world and sweat upon the brow are val- uable in obtaining new jobs. For those of you who are hungry for work, yet sit home and re-read Dear Abby four or five times, the best ad- vice for you is to keep trying and be patient, because sooner or later, there will be an empty Spot, ready and wait- ing for you to till.
