Yet through their deaths, we have come to realize the happiness and pains of living. 1977-78 was a year in which technology kept advancing, yet suffered its setbacks. Government had its nose in most func- tions ofthe world. The Yankees won the World Series, Muham- mah Ali lost the heavyweight championship, and Joe Narnath put up his spikes forever. Yes, it was an interesting year, full of passion and sorrow, ups and downs, thrills and dis- appointments.

IIBIIN 'RoAd ro H EAVENH As 1977 neared its end, so did the life of a great per- former. Bing Crosby. For many of us, we remember him as an aging performer whose talent never declined. Starring in some great films, such as White Christmash and The Bells of St. Marylsn, Bing captured our hearts with his mellow music and down to earth personality. His numerous television specials showed his never end- ing love for entertaining and the various aspects of his life. Although Bing Crosby is gone, he will long be remem- bered. The world was lucky to have found someone who could give so much to so many, as he did.
