SOMETHING NEW PRETTY GCOD TOC! This was the first year that a Girls' .T.V. Soccer program was allowed for Inter- scholastic competition in the City's League. The girls compiled a won-lost record of 4-5, and one tie. Throughout their commendable season, the girls worked hard and hustled, showing great potential for the Varsity team in the upcoming years. The new J.V. Soc- cer team provides an outlet of experi- enced and more talented soccer players for the Varsity team, improving an al- ready good program. Here's to more opportunity and better competition. Volle-yi! . I- F Girls pike League The Girls' Varsity Volleyball team fin- ished second in the league. Their over- all record was 13-7, and had a league record of 9-4. With a total of eight Se- niors holding star positions, Lilie Ann Giles was instrumental in many of the victories, as were the co-captains Chris Collins and Gail Cawley. The team played so well this season that they were invited to a tournament in the Mt. Markham lnvitationals and walked away with second place. Powerfully spiking the ball over the net is Lilie Anne Giles, whose versatility and height proved valuable to the success of the team. Girls Track Down Third The girls track team had an excellent season finishing third in the City League. Outstanding players included Lilie Ann Giles, Linda Cupid, and San- dra Camione. Both Linda Cupid and Lilie Ann Giles were invited to com- pete in the state competition, while Cheryl Lee, Amy Harris and Chris Col- lins joined Linda and Lilie Ann in Sec- tion lll play. Congratulations to Sandra Camione who was voted most valuable player! Our best wishes are extended to Coach Jennifer Parker who worked so effec- tively with the team.
