A large number from last yearls winning team moved up to the varsity level this season so that this year represented a con- certed effort in rebuilding. We trust that a successful effort of re- building coupled with continued spirit will bring the JV Football team on the winning side of the scoreboard. As in any sport, a large contingent of cheering fans would also help! The varsity had a good season with a rec- ord of 9-5, while the junior varsity com- pleted the season with a record of 1 l-3. Corcoranis Joe Cecile placed second in the Central New York City League Tour- nament. Joe's accomplishments were in- dicative ofthe hard work and determina- tion he put into the sport. Other Corcoran members were Mark Frazier, Bill Schaefer, and Joe Braithwaite. Varsity coach Dick Smith and junior varsity coach Mike Schmidt worked hard with the teams to achieve their final success. The school record breaking 400 freestyle relay team, consisting of Andy Eicholzer, Dave Maynard, Marty Sochia, and Ted Stru- zinski, take a break from their workout in Corcoran's Olympic sized pool. COTCOFBII ITIST GD C0 USF Under the guidance of coaches Doug Creamer and Russell Golly, the Corcor- an Boys' Swim team combined with Nottingham, had the best all time rec- ord of 10 wins and 2 loses. This out- standing team consisted of only 18 members. Andy Eicholzer broke three school records for the 100 freestyle, the 200 freestyle, and the 500 freestyle Other record breakers were: the 400 freestyle relay team of Ted Struzinski Cco-captainj, Marty Sochia, Dan Kreis- Andy Eicholzer, and Dave Maynard fNottinghamj . . . the 200 individual medley of Marty Sochia, Dan Kreis- bury, Dave Maynard, and Ted Stru- zinski . . . and 50 freestyle by Marty Sochia, On March 4, the two relay teams and Andy Eicholzer for 500 freestyle and 200 freestyle went to the sectionals.
