Paul McKenna, pole vaulter, has in- creased title hopes by placing himself in Section 1 ll stand- ings throughout the year. Darius Davis, a junior, is also of value to Corcoranls track team. His ability was displayed by winning the shot-put event while participating in other areas. Darell Payne, Anthony Travis and Greg Bouldin scored in a variety of events and pull- ed off many upsets at the City League Meet. Junior hurdler Ron Ross, also a sprinter, broke the standing hurdle record with impromptu effort. at First You Don't Succeed . . . A disappointing season was encoun- tered by the Varsity Basketball team this year. Their unfortunate seasonal record was to be 1-17. The team did a good job playing but, unfortunately, most of the other schools played bet- ter. If one could have looked over coach Don Churchillls shoulder he would have probably said It was a long season. lt was also a learning ex- perience. With the exception of one player, the entire team will be back next year with more experience. These words made the season record much easier to take. Well, team, thereas nowhere else to go but up, so better luck next year.
