Redhounds start basketball of with cz bang. With the beginning of the bas- ketball season, the Corbin Red- hound's future looked bright. Out of the first seven ballgames, the Hounds put five in the victory column. London and Williams- burg became the first victims. Corbin beat London 68-64 and Williamsburg 108-47. Both games were at home. The first loss at Pineville saw the Moun- tain Lions beat Corbin 86e73. The Redhounds came back from Somerset with a 75-65 victory, but the long journey to Alcoa was in vain. Corbin lost in the 1293 frnal minutes 61-58. The next two games were victories for the Redhounds. The home fans saw the impressive Redhounds over Whitley Co. 71-57. Three days later Jackson Co. fell to the Cor- bin live 83-70. 'RBI Q

,Xi Losejive in a row. . . Corbin 'S victory march is stopped cola' at the cz.z'.Z. Although they won five of their first seven games, the Redhounds could not use this record to predict their future. Their next five games were with some of the best teams in the state. There was no hope at Ashland, as the Tomcats downed Corbin 101-59. In this game Corbin was completely outclassed. The next four games were also disappointing. The Redhounds lost to Hazel Green, Clay County, London, and Boone County. In these four games Corbin would keep pace with their opponent until late in the third quarter, and then they would seem to tire. This is the way the rest of the season went. Out of their last twelve games, the Redhounds won four. The losses came from Clay County, Bell County, Middlesboro, Harlan, Lily, Whitley County, and two from Bar- bourville. Lynn Camp, Knox Central, Cawood, and Williamsburg fell to Corbin for the Redhounds Hnal regular season wins. The Knox Central game, which Corbin won 80-69, was very impres- sive. If Corbin could have played the whole year like they played the Panthers that night, then the season would have been a success. lu
