Our lives have resembled and will con- tinue to resemble a vast lake that is slowly filling with the stream of our years. As the waters creep surely up- ward the landmarks of the past are one by one submerged. But there always will be memories to lift their heads above the tide until finally the lake is overflowing. One of the most outstand- ing of these memories, probably lifting its head highest, will be the remembrance of Corbett High School and for all that it represents. If each and every one of us could examine this memory more closely, we would see teachers and friends each extending a guiding hand and facing us with an expression of concern. We would see the members of our community who have long been our symbols of inspiration and support. Last but not least, we would see our parents striving so hard to make us better citizens. After our high school years, our relation- ship with Corbett High and the community will diminish slowly as a thing of the pastg only memories such as are contained in this book will continue to exist.
