' 'U The French club managed to com- ,fn bine pleasure with progress in the projects they undertook. They began their active year with a Homecoming float which contained a gorilla in the Eiffel Tower. A picnic for club members was held at Birch State Park. Members also participated in Christmas carolling through Country Club, Coral Springs. ln April, 2l members of the club went on a trip to France over Easter vacation. The club ended the year with a banquet which was held at a French Restaurant. Officers of the club were. Laura Murphree, president, Sheryl Clingins- mith, vice-presidents Debbie Sheppers. secretary, and Julie Hopper, treasurer. Quill and Scroll HonorsNew Members g -f' Larry Colosimo and Patty Mascarellat aged journalists at I7 years old. Larry Colosimo, Robin Kauffman and sponsor Mrs. Martini brainstorming ,,,.-v-N' Quill and Scroll is a selective club, which is probably why there are only five club members. Qualifications for this International honorary journalism club are stiff. A person needs IOO inches of published material, a B average in Journalism, teacher recommendation and to be in the top upper one-third of hisfher class, in order to be inducted into this club. Club members enter writing con- tests and sponsor the Journalism Banquet which is held at the end of the year. The president was Robin Kauffman, vice president was Pam Perinovic, Secret- aryftreasurer was Larry Colosimo and new members were Joe Simon and Patty Mascarella. Joe Simon gets into writing. Sponsored by Ms. Bacon, the club was involved in projects including, a Homecoming float, which had the theme Hogans Heroes , a football game against the Latin club, picnics and parties throughout the year, and to wrap up the year, a dinner at a German restaurant. .
