Anchor Club Ha 'Most Under the guidance of their parent organization, Pilot International, Anchor Club is an active service club at C.S.H.S. The function of Anchor Club is to serve the school and the community, and yet to develop a sisterhood and have fun. Annual projects they participated in this school year were the American Cancer Society and Toys for Tots Christmas Drive, plus car washes and a front row Cleft to rightjz Janine Langlois, Loren Caiati, Robin Moore, .la Bruner. Cindy Thornburn, Meg Taylor, Lynn Cudak Christmas flower sale for fund raisers. Active partakers in Homecoming l98O, Anchor Club was awarded the plaque for most spirited float with the theme Love Boat . e Ms. Thornburgh sponsored the club. Officers were Lynette Bruner, presidentf Sheila Ashe, vice president: Rhonda Gerke, secretary, Cindy Thornburn treasurer, Denise Nowling, Senior Direc- Sp i rit' tor, Meg Traylor, Junior Director, and Kelly Peck, Sophomore Director. Anchor Club members are active, enthusiastic, and contribute to school and community life. They could be spotted by their green and gold Anchor colors and also by their green jackets, gold jerseys and silver hats. Service is the Key Key Club, an active service club of C.S.H.S., is sponsored by Mr. Place. Officers are president, Sandy Porter- field, vice-president, Genia Polhemus, corresponding secretary, Robin Cook, recording secretary, Michelle Murphys treasurer, Russ Reynolds, Historian, Chris Bradburn, class representatives, Jeff Diehl, Seniors, Dawn Christensen, Jun- iors, Robin Staubly, Sophomores and Laurie Leonard, Freshman. The club built a float with the theme Movies are the key to your dreams for the l98O Homecoming. During the Football, Basketball and Soccer seasons, spirit ribbons were sold by Key Club as a fund raising project. In December club members went Christmas Caroling around Coral Springs. Proceeds from the Sadie Hawkins dance, held in March, which was sponsored by Key, went to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The International Key Club theme, Dare to Influence' ' was discussed by the Zone Four Key Club International District Convention in Fort Lauderdale. The theme was further studied when Key Club participated in their state conven- tion during four days at the end of April. Key Club worked with Broward Commun- ity College Circle K and the Kiwanis to paint a house for abused children. They then began to furnish it. Along with Circle K and Kiwanis, they participated in K-Family weekend. During the spring, Key Club helped with the Special Olympics for mentally and physically handicapped people. A banquet was held at the end of the year for all of the members. Members of the club learned how to use a camera, pointers for photography and methods of working in the darkroom. Camera cIub's president was Sheryl Woodrow, vice president was Mike Levi, secretary was Kim Gieseke, assistant secretary was Eva Grosclaude, treasurer was Scott Harap, financial secretary was Kristy Carmody, parliamentarian was Richard Staley and Sargeant at Arms was Celia Rether.
