Latin Club Hi hlightz Toga Part The purpose of Latin Club is to familiarize club members with the Latin language, the ancient civilizations of Rome and Greece, to revitalize the common bond between the ancient civilizations and the modern era, and to build friendships around a common interest. Officers were Consul Cpresidentj Tammy Pilloud, Pro-Consul Qvice pres- identj Mary Moliski, Scriba Csecretaryj Cherie Sheppers, Pro-Scriba CAssistant secretaryj Lori Pursifull, Quaestor Ctrea- surerb Steve Reynolds, Parliamentarian Scott Williams, Historian Laura Schwait. Assistant Historians Tera Petosa, Jill Kozak. Latin Club started out the year with a Homecoming float entitled Animal House . The Slave Auction followed on December I5. This prepared them for Saturnalia Latin Club Christmas Ban- quet on December l9. Members par- ticipated in District Forum at Cardinal Newman High School, West Palm Beach, on Saturday, February I4. During the month of March, they sold carnations for St. Patrick's Day. Club members par- ticipated in State Forum from April 2 to the 4 of April at the Holiday Inn at Jacksonville. Easter Bunny grams were sold by Latin Club during April. Another big project they joined during the month of April was a Vizcaya Field trip for Latin and Humanities classes. Sponsored by Ms. Bacon, the club was involved in projects including, a Homecoming float, which had the theme Hogans Heroes , a football game against the Latin club, picnics and parties throughout the year, and to wrap up the year, a dinner at a German restaurant. . A get acquainted beach party at Birch park started off the year. lt was followed by a Homecoming float with the theme Man of LaMancha from Don Quixote. A pre-exam party was held during January. At the end of the year the Spanish Banquet was held for the approximate 60 members at a Spanish restaurant. Spanish Club 95
