OPPOSITE PAGE: A Coral Sea sponsored tour called the auto safari provided sailors an opportunity to observe wild animals in an African-style game preserve. Animals are brought here from Africa to adjust to the climate change before going to European zoos. RIGHT: The Palma Cathedral towers over the sandy beaches, small shops and piers surrounding it. The second largest cathedral in Spain, it was founded in 1229 by King Jaime I, the Conqueror. Within the cathedral walls hangs what is said to be the original Crown of Thorns Worn by Jesus Christ. BELOW: The variety of Palma's terrain can be seen here as hills rise just beyond the port.

Coral Seaman traveled back to the middle ages and the country castle of the Wicked count during their stay in Palma. A typical medieval style banquet of soup, chicken Qwhich sailors had to eat with their fingers! and red wine was enjoyed while strolling minstrels and folk dancers entertained. After the meal, knights competed in a thrilling jousting tournament of challenges, falls and sword fights. RIGHT: A parade introduced the players, then the games began. BELOW: A battle to the death ended the show before everyone retired to the dance floor.
