EDD Team weeks and weeks of boredom interrupted by a few seconds of raving fear. This describes the task of Explosive Ordnance Disposal team nine. Based in Hawaii, and assigned TAD to the CORAL SEA weapons department, this four man team has the responsibility of rendering safe all types of explosive ordnance. They are called upon to recover mines and torpedoes and on occasion give assistance to civilian law enforcement agencies. Missiles and bombs, both nuclear and conventional ordnance, fall within their range of professional expertise. Nerve and physical prowess are prerequisites for this line of work. The men are highly trained in all aspects of diving as well as being qualified parachutists. , .f fx , V f, ,ff f ef f fn 7 2 5 ri Wffff f alff aff?-af
