S-5 is responsible for the 1317 meals per day as well as the general maintenance of the ship's 223 staterooms. A small division yet responsible for more spaces on CORAL SEA than any other department. Disbursing is responsible for regular pay as well as special pay in cases ot emergency. Although these are the primary areas of concern, disbursing's responsibilities do neg end here. They also settle travel claims and allowances in addition to handling claims against the government, S4 is also the bank of the CORAL SEA. It collects the proceeds from the ship's stores and from the sale of postal money orders, and also provides safe keeping for crew members deposits. Disbursing on the CORAL SEA is no nickel - dime operation.
