CDR T. H. Parks Department Head Keep 'em flying might well be the motto of the officers and men of the AIRCRAFT INTERMEDIATE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT KAIMDI. Aboard the CORAL SEA they provide a clinic for our mechanized birds of prey. The men of AIMD are concerned with every aspect of aircraft maintenance from the complex fire control equipment to the aircraft handling vehicles, better known as yellow gear. AIMD is unique among departments aboard CORAL SEA in that over half of the personnel are TAD from the Airwing. They have a very high percentage of senior petty officers and nearly all personnel receive formal professional training becoming' specialists in their respective fields. Their acknowledged creed is, To offer the best possible support for the Airwing and'other ship's departments. This support is provided by the department's four divisions. A , ,K'. .
