A tailor is sew- ing a crow on a set of blues. The crew's whites and dun- garees are being hauled to the laundry for cleaning. A steam shop, an air conditioning shop, and oxygen and nitrogen plants are droning and humming with the voices of their mechanical inhabitants. A doctor is examining a man with a fever. A dentist is chipping away decay and filling a cavity. A short- hand class is being conducted in the Education and Training Office. The print shop's presses are spitting out a variety of literature. The post office is sorting mail. 'cStardust is Hoat- ing ffOm a shipis radio speakers. Nickels are clinking in soft drink machines. Some hungry young men are devouring chick- en dinners in the chow hall. After working hours, men are straining over bar-bells in the EYIT1- Rooks and pawns are being meticulously manipulated Over a chess board. A sailor is checking out a leather-craft set from the hobby shop. Books and magazines are being scruti- nized in the lounge and library. A young man with a sweet tooth is sipping on a malted at the gedunkf' Iohn Wayne is riding across the silver screen on the forward mess decks. At the end of the day men lie hushed in their racks, as a chaplain delivers the evening prayer.
