The 1987 Laurel continued a recent tradition of being a smaller yearbook. A dedicated staff of five page editors and three darkroom technicians did the job that is usually done by staffs twice that size. With the complete elimination of journalism as a separate class and as a part of regular English classes, the Laurel shifted to being a picture book. The production pressure on a small staff did not allow time to prepare stories to accompany each layout. Another milestone was reached this year as the 1987 Laurel was the last to be sold for $13. The 1988 Laurel will go on sale for $16 to bring Its price in line with other schools and also to cover production costs.
